Emotional Design I

I have long been infatuated with emotional design. Objects or products, that are non-living yet invoking and engaging with us on an emotional level. Emotions are intrinsic to us, human beings. In fact, emotional states are known to affect productivity in many ways, as published in this research. However, the use of emotional agents to aid human productivity is what piques my interest these days. I believe this was set into motion first by the following scene from the popular Christopher Nolan movie "Interstellar" depicted in the scene below.

The "humour setting" followed by "honesty setting" is an interesting decision to put into a robot that constantly interface and actually massively aids human productivity; albeit fictional.

And, it's not limited to occasions to boost productivity. It gets further to into human-like emotional responses to events of sadness. That might be solving a communication purpose so as to provide information or expression to optimise for better receipt by a human. The fact that a group of people, especially those hanging out with Christopher Nolan, invested time and effort crafting this dynamic speaks
